NLG IC Launches Mothers' Day Campaign to Free the Cuban Five!

"What we need is justice" – Mirta Rodriguez, mother of Antonio Guerrero

The National Lawyers Guild International Committee is launching a new campaign to support the Cuban 5, five Cuban men in U.S. prison for attempting to defend their homeland from violent attacks.

Cuban 5
The Cuban Five - Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, Ramón Labañino Salazar, Antonio Guerrero Rodríguez, Fernando González Llort and René González Sehwerert – are serving four life sentences and 75 years collectively, after being wrongly convicted in U.S. federal court in Miami, on June 8, 2001.

They have been repeatedly denied family visitation, their wives and mothers denied visas to visit the United States, separated from their loved ones. On Mother’s Day, join the call for the Cuban 5 to be returned home to their mothers, wives, sisters and families!

We are directing postcards to President Barack Obama, urging him to extend executive clemency to the Cuban Five. These beautiful postcards, designed by Vanessa Ramos, can be printed and mailed to the White House, or you can use our online form to email the Office of the Pardon Attorney. You may also visit http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to email President Obama.
