At the 2008 NLG convention in Detroit, Guild members paid tribute to the courage of the Pakistan lawyers’ movement striving for the supremacy of the Constitution and independence of the judiciary. This convention had the honor of being addressed by the former Vice-President of Supreme Court Bar Association, Sahibzada Anwar Hameed. Hameed is glad at the way the lawyers in the US appreciated the Pakistani lawyers’ movement and gave him a standing ovation. The points mentioned by Hameed in his address are discussed in the following article that appeared in the Pakistan Observer.
